Annual Pumpkin Carving A Regal Heights Success!

Event Report:

People in Regal Heights know how to make Halloween frightfully fun.

Despite chilly temperatures and threat of rain, close to 60 children and their families turned out on Saturday, October 27 for the annual Pumpkin Carving event at Santa Chiara Parkette.

The Regal Heights Residents’ Association and the neighbouring Northcliffe Village Residents’ Association supplied the pumpkins, safety knives and patterns. But it was kids who created the scary magic.

They carved out everything from traditional jack-o-lanterns, to bats (a popular theme this year!) to grinning skulls.

In addition to the volunteers, we also received a visit from two of our area representatives. Thanks to Davenport MP Julie Dzerowicz and our newly elected MPP Marit Stiles for helping us with our spooky celebration.

Thanks also to our volunteers from both associations who helped lug and gut the pumpkins and make sure everyone had the supplies and encouragement they needed to create their orange masterpieces.

And most of all, thanks to everyone who came out to join the fun.

Happy Halloween!
