Regal Road & Springmount Ave. Intersection — Announcement of Informal Community Discussion

I’d like to invite you to an important community discussion about the Springmount/Regal intersection. There seems to be a consensus in the neighbourhood that the current pilot project isn’t working.  The plastic bollards are horrendous, the vehicle lanes are too narrow, and cyclists feel squeezed.

Some residents want to see the intersection returned to its original design, while others would like to see modifications to the pilot to make it more open, attractive and practical.  So let’s get together and talk about the options!

  • Community Discussion
  • Tuesday September 11th
  • Saint Nektarios (Dovercourt at Davenport)
  • 6:30pm

Interested in attending? Let us know at this Facebook Event.

The city will be hosting a formal consultation later this autumn, attended by their engineers.  Next week’s meeting is an informal meeting, just between neighbours, to help us figure out how to move forward. Do we simply ask the city to return to the old design, or try to imagine something different?  It’s up to us!  It’s our neighbourhood.

Hope you can make it to this meeting!  Please bring your ideas, your complaints, your creativity and your patience.   Thank you!
