The Regal Heights area is a little greener after a program that distributes free trees for planting in the neighbourhood.
This is the second time this year that the RHRA has organized the program called Tree For Me. The idea is simple: anyone in the area can register, attend a brief workshop on tree planting and receive the sapling of their choice.
We gave away more than 50 trees over a couple of hours — about the same number we distributed back in the spring of 2017.
Tree For Me is made possible by the Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation (TPTF), with funding from the City of Toronto. It works in partnership with local organizations such as the RHRA.
A big thank you to organizer Harry Lay, Margo Mullin of TPTF, and our hard-working volunteers. Watch for more Tree For Me events next year!
