In October, 2016 the RHRA held an event to unveil the plaque to honour the life of Regal Heights community builder Dick Watts, and it was a great success.
Many thanks to the speakers for their tributes, including RHRA Chair John Keating, Councillor Cesar Palacio, former Councillor Betty Disero, Provincial MPP Cristina Martins, Federal MP Julie Dzerowicz, Initiative coordinator Harry Lay and of course Florence Watts.
Some 75 people from Regal Heights and beyond gathered for the event at the top of the Dick Watts Steps at the corner of Glenholme Ave. and Regal Rd., and then joined in fellowship at a lovely wine and cheese reception at the Lay residence.
A warm thank you from the Executive to all the many members of the community who volunteered to help, donated refreshments for the reception and helped organize this important community initiative. Special thanks to the members of the Watts family who traveled great distances to come and join our community at this event.
