Santa Claus got a chance to test drive his sleigh when he appeared Friday night, December 20 at the Regal Heights Residents’ Association annual Carol Sing.
Several dozen neighbours gathered by the small Christmas tree in front of Oakwood Collegiate to sing some old holiday favourites. The weather was chilly but the atmosphere was warm as singer Tony Laviola led the carolers, backed up by local musicians Dave Barnes, John Keating and Brian Crabtree.
Master of Ceremonies Brigid Higgins kept things on track, while Florence Watts, Linda DeGiorgio and her sister Cindy kept everyone supplied with hot chocolate.
A special thank you to Robert Szarchrajuk who personally arranged Santa’s visit. Thanks also to Gladiol Islamaj and Jody Sarnovsky from the Pizza Pizza at Oakwood and St. Clair, who provided free pizza for the volunteers.
A Merry Christmas to all!
